A new building in Sherman Oaks - Seniors Only!

Jun 25, 2025

Developed by Mercy Housing California and designed by TCA Architects, the four-story building includes studio and one-bedroom units, each equipped with a kitchen and bathroom. The project aims to address the growing crisis of senior homelessness in Los Angeles, where the number of unhoused seniors rose by 22% last year despite an overall decline in homelessness. Residents are selected through a screening process and have access to on-site amenities like laundry facilities, recreational spaces, and wellness programs including yoga, cooking, and financial literacy classes. Case managers are also available to assist with healthcare and social services. Construction began in 2021, and move-ins started in October 2023. The building is located near essential services such as markets, pharmacies, and public transit, making it a thoughtfully integrated part of the community. Sherman Oaks in General is seeing major remodeling and construction projects all over but mainly for residential houses, It's good to know that at least someone is trying to address the homeless problem.
