Step by Step Process: How to properly install a window

Bringing your home to the next level can be quite a task. With proper maintenance and care your home can look as good today as it did 40 years ago. Unfortunately the problem is not that simple. Things happen that are out of our control quite often. Bad weather, accidents, animals, and just bad luck. We know that after many years some parts of a home can get a little dingy. This is the expectation most homeowners have. We all know that there will be a time in the future of our home that we will have to make the decision to finally fix all the things that we decided were "good enough". Whether it is due to just standard wear and tear on your home, or you just want to make a design change to spruce up the look of your property, it is going to be a long process and some people do not know how to properly install a window.

Sometimes it is the little things that can make all the difference. That wall that looks very drab and boring might look much better with a window in it. This is a common thought among homeowners. And it is a very simple process to make this happen.

The steps to change out a window.

  1. Demolition of original stucco.
  2. Check previous window frame for issues and damage.
  3. Install waterproof membrane (window wrap)
  4. place window
  5. Check to make sure window is level
  6. Screw Window to frame.
  7. check to make sure firm, secure, and closes appropriately.
  8. re-apply stucco to finish.

These steps may seem simple, but they require time and patience. Make sure you have all the appropriate tools and have ordered enough supplies. Good luck and let us know how it goes.
